Job summary

Bickford Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to keep our Iowa City branch clean, safe, and well-maintained for residents. You will handle preventive maintenance, address issues promptly, and coordinate with outside contractors as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, timely move-in readiness, and adherence to regulatory requirements, with benefits varying by status and daily pay options. Valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle record check.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Branch to a standard of excellence that reflects the quality of care we provide our residents.
• Prioritize and complete all maintenance tasks timely.
• Address maintenance issues promptly, notifying the Director when outside services are needed.
• Ensure all apartments are move-in-ready within 3 days after move-out.
• Assist in arranging service contracts and bids as assigned.
• Promptly complete items from Maintenance Request forms.
• Manage the Preventive Maintenance Work Schedule to ensure items are completed timely.
• Order supplies/chemicals as assigned.
• Identify emergency situations and respond appropriately using the applicable Bickford procedure.
• Ensure equipment remains in working order and is used safely.
• Complete Resident Monitoring System Testing Procedure Checklist as scheduled.
• Complete the Exit Door Inspection Checklist as scheduled.
• Perform emergency tests according to the Preventive Maintenance Work Schedule.
• Ensure chemicals utilized are securely stored, labeled, and used per directions, and appropriate PPE is worn.
• Ensure OSHA compliance while working in the Branch.
• Complete tasks necessary to comply with all applicable state and federal regulatory agencies.
