Job summary

Nissan is seeking a Maintenance Engineering Intern to join our Smyrna, TN team. The role offers hands-on experience supporting equipment reliability, process improvements, and manufacturing operations within a fast-paced plant environment.

You will work with experienced engineers on projects that directly impact production performance and operational excellence, gaining exposure to Kaizen, equipment validation, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Junior/Senior or Master's term start.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with limited instruction.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Interest in manufacturing, equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
• GPA 3.0 or above with transcript verification.
• On-site work in Smyrna, TN.

Responsibilities

• Support projects to improve Operating Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and manufacturing performance.
• Assist Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support installation, startup and validation of new equipment.
• Analyze equipment and process data for operational improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance and production teams to support daily operations and long-term projects.
