Job summary

Town and Country Resort in San Diego is seeking an Engineer I to keep guest rooms, restaurants, pools, and meeting spaces operating safely and reliably. The role involves routine maintenance, preventive care, and quick responses to equipment issues with a hands-on, mechanical mindset.

You will work with the Engineering team and other departments to ensure a welcoming environment for guests and staff, prioritizing safety and quality work.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, engineering, facilities, or related experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate solutions.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to doing the job correctly.
• Ability to prioritize work and respond to changing needs.
• Hospitality or hotel engineering experience is a plus—but we are willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, meeting spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Respond promptly to guest room and departmental maintenance requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems as assigned.
• Troubleshoot equipment and systems to identify the cause of problems and make appropriate repairs.
• Assist with maintaining resort equipment, fixtures, furniture, and facilities.
• Inspect areas and equipment for potential safety or maintenance concerns and report issues appropriately.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts or materials used.
• Assist with pool, grounds, and other resort maintenance as needed.
• Work with outside contractors and vendors when directed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and resort policies.
• Provide professional and courteous service to guests and team members.
• Respond to emergencies and urgent maintenance situations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As an Engineer I, you will perform routine and preventive maintenance throughout the resort and respond to service requests and equipment issues. The Physical Stuff

This is a hands-on position, so you should be comfortable being on your feet and moving throughout a large resort. The position requires the ability to:

• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach for extended periods.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, tools, and materials as required.
• Safely operate ladders and other maintenance equipment.
• Work in indoor and outdoor environments and in varying temperatures.
• Perform emergency repairs when necessary.
