Job summary

Town & Country Resort in San Diego seeks an Engineer I to join our Engineering team. This hands-on role maintains guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, and meeting spaces, performing routine and preventive maintenance while ensuring safety and a welcoming environment for guests and team members.

You’ll troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems, document work, and collaborate with vendors and other departments. Training is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance, engineering, facilities, or related experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate solutions.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to doing the job correctly.
• Ability to prioritize work and respond appropriately to changing needs.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Hospitality or hotel engineering experience is a plus—but we are willing to train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, meeting spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Respond promptly to guest room and departmental maintenance requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems as assigned.
• Troubleshoot equipment and systems to identify the cause of problems and make appropriate repairs.
• Assist with maintaining resort equipment, fixtures, furniture, and facilities.
