Job description

Description

Keep It Running. Keep It Beautiful. Keep Guests Comfortable.

When everything in a hotel is working the way it should, most guests never think about it-and that's exactly the point.

Behind every comfortable guest room, working air conditioner, bright hallway, clean pool, functioning piece of equipment, and well-maintained space is a dedicated Engineering team making it happen.

We're looking for an Engineer who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, learning new skills, and taking pride in maintaining a great hotel environment.

If you're the person friends call when something needs to be fixed, you're naturally curious about how things work, and you enjoy seeing the results of your work, this could be a great opportunity for you.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
  • Complete maintenance work orders and repairs to maintain the hotel's quality standards.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance assignments, including guest room "room care."
  • Inspect electrical systems such as air-conditioning controls, televisions, and lighting systems and perform minor repairs or replacements.
  • Assist with routine and major repairs involving hotel equipment and systems.
  • Work with equipment including:
    • HVAC systems
    • Boilers
    • Pool equipment
    • Plumbing systems and fixtures
    • Kitchen equipment
    • Laundry equipment
    • Small appliances
    • Hand and power tools
  • Service the hotel pool, including cleaning filters and adjusting chemicals as required.
  • Complete maintenance request forms and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
  • Help maintain the hotel's exterior and curb appeal through tasks such as painting, gardening, lawn care, and snow removal as applicable.
  • Repair, refurbish, paint, and finish guest room furniture and fixtures, including cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters.
  • Respond professionally and courteously to guest questions, requests, and maintenance concerns.
  • Communicate maintenance issues and work progress to the appropriate leadership.
  • Assist coworkers and other departments when needed.
  • Operate heavy machinery and work safely in varying temperature conditions.
  • Complete other job-related duties as assigned.

The position is intentionally broad and hands-on, with responsibilities ranging from preventative maintenance and electrical systems to HVAC, plumbing, pool equipment, furniture repair, and building appearance.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A natural problem-solver who enjoys figuring out how to fix things.
  • Hands-on and comfortable working with tools and equipment.
  • Dependable and accountable and takes ownership of assigned work.
  • Detail-oriented and understands that small maintenance issues can become big problems if ignored.
  • Safety-minded and committed to following proper hotel safety procedures.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn, because no two maintenance days are exactly alike.
  • A team player who is willing to pitch in and help coworkers.
  • Guest-focused and understands that engineering directly impacts the guest experience.
  • A strong communicator who can receive instructions and provide clear updates on work assignments.
  • Professional and courteous, especially when interacting with guests.

Candidates should be comfortable with climbing, reading, standing, walking, and routinely lifting approximately 25-50 pounds.

Why Join Our Engineering Team?

Because you’ll see the results of your work every day.

You might walk into a room where the AC isn't working-and leave knowing you've made a guest's stay more comfortable.

You might repair a fixture, troubleshoot a piece of equipment, maintain the pool, refresh a piece of furniture, or take care of an issue before a guest ever notices it.

That's the impact of Engineering.

You aren't simply maintaining a building. You're helping maintain the experience our guests came here to enjoy.

The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here

You might be the perfect fit if you're the person who:

Sees a problem and immediately starts thinking about the solution.

Takes pride in fixing something the right way-not just the fastest way.

Likes learning how equipment and systems work.

Doesn't mind getting your hands dirty.

Can work independently but knows when to ask for help.

Takes pride in a hotel that looks great and operates properly.

Understands that the work you do behind the scenes directly affects the guest experience.

Our Engineering team is expected to maintain professional work habits, remain adaptable, solve routine problems, learn new skills, and follow hotel safety and security procedures.

More Than Maintenance-It's Hospitality.

At our hotel, every associate is part of the guest experience, including our Engineering team.

When you fix the AC, you're creating comfort.

When you repair a door, you're creating convenience.

When you maintain the pool, you're protecting an experience.

When you keep the hotel looking its best, you're helping create the environment our guests expect.

Your work matters-even when guests don't see it.

Ready to Put Your Skills to Work?

If you're a reliable, hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping things running and wants to be part of a team that values safety, teamwork, quality, and exceptional hospitality, we'd love to meet you.

Bring your skills. Bring your curiosity. Bring your problem-solving mindset.
