Job summary

Woodland Job Corps Center is seeking a reliable Maintenance Engineer to help maintain a safe, functional environment for students and staff at the Laurel, MD campus. You will perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs, while coordinating vehicle maintenance and transportation needs.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and teamwork, with opportunities to mentor Work-Based Learning students and collaborate with multiple departments to support campus operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced degrees preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid in-State Driver’s License.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Experience in maintenance, inspections, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of Center facilities, equipment, and systems.
• Schedule Center vehicles for preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Provide student transportation services as assigned.
• Mentor Work-Based Learning students and model Career Success Standards.
