Job summary

Delta by Marriott in the United States seeks a hotel maintenance technician to assist with operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and property. You will work safely, follow policies, and support guest satisfaction by promptly addressing maintenance needs.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, record-keeping, and ensuring OSHA compliance while maintaining tools and storage areas in good order.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed in a trade preferred (Plumbing electrical HVAC carpentry, etc.).
• Knowledge of hotel operation, including security and safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair hotel equipment, facilities, and systems (including HVAC and electrical).
• Provide immediate follow up on alarms and report findings to Guest Services and General Manager.
• Perform preventive maintenance across property including guest rooms, public areas, and meeting rooms.
• Respond to guest maintenance needs with professional, efficient service.
• Maintain and organize tools and equipment; ensure safety and cleanliness of storage areas.
• Ensure proper records of equipment maintenance and service.
• Comply with OSHA standards for product handling and equipment safety.
• Wear proper uniform with name tag and uphold grooming standards.

Summary/Objective

To assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and hotel property. Position is responsible for working in a safe and conscientious manner. Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair hotel equipment, facilities, and systems (including HVAC and electrical).
• Must provide immediate follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause; determine emergency status and report to Guest Services and General Manager with findings.
• Performs routinely scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) activities throughout property, including guest rooms, grounds, public areas, and meeting rooms. Includes minor repairs and painting.
• Respond to guest’s maintenance needs promptly and ensure guests receive professional, efficient, prompt, and courteous service to hotels standards.
• Performs preventive maintenance on tools and maintains all tools and equipment used in performance of the job. Keeps tools orderly and in good working order.
• Take responsibilities for the cleanliness and safety aspects of all mechanical equipment and storage rooms.
• Ensure that proper records are kept relating to all equipment for the hotel including repair and service records.
• Oversees compliance with OSHA standards regarding proper usage, dilution of products, equipment safety and usage as well as blood-borne pathogen precautions and procedures.
• Ensure wearing proper uniform with name tag and uphold hotel grooming and hygiene standards.

• Must be able to work in hazardous conditions with an attention to maintaining safety standards.
