Job summary

Rebel Hotel Company is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to assist with operation, maintenance and repair of hotel equipment. The role includes preventative maintenance for guest rooms, HVAC, kitchen and pool areas, and handling work orders while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing plumbing/electrical tasks, addressing guest requests, and maintaining security of sensitive areas. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
• Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
• Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record) property specific.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Change out light bulbs and perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms.
• Perform preventative maintenance on ice machines, kitchen equipment, HVAC and other hotel systems.
• Perform plumbing and laundry equipment repair; monitor energy conservation.
• Follow up on alarms and report findings to Front Desk; handle work orders.
• Protect access to back of house areas and controlled assets; interact with guests as needed.
• Drive safely on behalf of the company for business reasons.

Description

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service and repair of equipment as assigned. He/she is also responsible for participating in the preventative maintenance program, handling guest requests and other work orders as assigned. He/she is also responsible for performing the job in a safe and efficient manner and performing trade jobs, such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc.

Job Duties & Functions

• Assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment
• Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair, touch up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, the swimming pool and hot tub
• Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request
• Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings
• Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager
• Access to back of house areas of the hotel and sensitive information
• Interact and occasionally have unsupervised contact with guests and/or colleagues
• Access and control to sensitive areas in the hotel premises, including the Hotel Safe, Master Keys and/or guestrooms, Storage/Liquor Room, and secured file cabinets
• Drive safely on behalf of the company for business reasons
• Maintain a high level of trust and responsibility
• Represent the company with certain level of reputation and good character as well as exercise sound judgement

Education & Experience

• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
