Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Electrician for a metal stamping facility in Bluffton, IN. You will install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical systems on stamping presses and automated machinery.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing is required.
• Hands-on PLC experience for troubleshooting automated equipment.
• Experience with VFDs and AC/DC drives including setup and maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams and blueprints.
• Experience with electrical test equipment for troubleshooting.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulics/pneumatics in production.

• Familiarity with fuses, breakers, disconnects, relays and solenoids.
• Ability to work independently on electrical and mechanical systems at Grade 2+.
• Advanced electrical/automation experience with limited supervision for Grade 3.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance and repair on stamping presses and related machinery.

• Install and maintain conduit and wiring following safety standards.

Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

Job Description

This role provides electrical maintenance support in a metal stamping manufacturing facility that serves the automotive and heavy equipment industries. You will install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical systems on production equipment, including stamping presses and automated machinery. Two full-time positions are available on day and night shifts, offering the opportunity to grow across three technical grades based on your skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on stamping presses, metal stamping equipment, and related production machinery.




• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues using PLCs, robotics, servo motion systems, VFDs, AC/DC drives, and automation sensors.




• Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to install and maintain equipment.




• Install, run, and maintain conduit and wiring for new and existing equipment, ensuring compliance with plant standards and safety practices.




• Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.




• Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot components such as fuses, circuit breakers, disconnects, overloads, contactors, relays, and solenoids.




• Support stamping press controls, industrial networks, machine safety circuits, and industrial control circuits to ensure reliable operation.




• Collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective solutions.




• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications to equipment as required by plant procedures.




• For higher-grade roles, serve as a technical resource for the department, providing guidance, training, and mentoring to less-experienced maintenance technicians.




• Follow all plant safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices while working on electrical and mechanical systems.




• Participate in overtime as needed, primarily on Fridays, to support production and maintenance schedules.

Essential Skills

• Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (industrial experience required).




• Hands‑on PLC experience for troubleshooting and supporting automated equipment.




• Experience with VFDs and AC/DC drives, including setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.




• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.




• Experience with troubleshooting electrical systems, including use of electrical test equipment.




• Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical systems in an industrial setting.




• Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics as they relate to production equipment.




• Ability to install and maintain conduit and wiring in an industrial environment.




• Familiarity with basic electrical components such as fuses, circuit breakers, disconnects, overloads, contactors, relays, and solenoids.




• Capability to independently troubleshoot, maintain, and install electrical and mechanical systems within a manufacturing environment (Grade 2 and above).




• Advanced industrial electrical and automation experience, including complex troubleshooting with limited supervision (for Grade 3 candidates).




• Comfort working in a loud, non–temperature-controlled industrial facility.




• Willingness and ability to work either day shift (Monday–Thursday, 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) or night shift (Monday–Thursday, 3:30 p.m.–2:00 a.m.) with overtime on Fridays as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Controls experience, including machine controls and industrial automation systems.




• Experience with servo drives, robotic systems, PLC‑controlled equipment, automation sensors, and industrial control circuits.




• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills in a production environment.

Work Environment

Two shifts are available: a day shift running Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and a night shift running Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with overtime scheduled on Fridays if needed. The facility operates under a UAW union environment, though joining the union is not mandatory. Typical attire includes jeans and steel‑toed boots, reflecting a practical and safety‑focused dress code appropriate for a heavy industrial, metal stamping operation

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Bluffton, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.32 - $38.78/hr.
