Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician in Glasgow, MO to maintain production efficiency by ensuring safe operation of machinery and facility systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, interpreting schematics and installation manuals.

Qualifications

Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Industrial Maintenance Technician maintains production efficiency and product quality by ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of machinery, equipment, and facility systems in a manufacturing environment. This role supports equipment uptime, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives by performing troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and facility systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Repair or replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
• Inspect motors, drives, belts, bearings, gears, and related mechanical components to identify wear, damage, or misalignment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related equipment issues to restore safe and efficient operation.
• Assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, control systems, machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
• Dismantle equipment safely to access, remove, and replace defective parts and reassemble to proper specifications.
• Interpret and apply information from blueprints, diagrams, schematics, maintenance manuals, and technical drawings to complete repairs and installations.
• Fabricate, repair, or modify machine parts, fixtures, and tooling as required to support production and maintenance needs.
• Adjust and calibrate equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation in accordance with standards and specifications.
• Use welding and cutting equipment to repair or modify components when needed.
• Inspect equipment using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring devices to verify tolerances and proper operation.
• Install new equipment and support capital projects, including setup, alignment, and integration into existing systems.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Conduct inspections, equipment checks, and maintenance documentation in accordance with established procedures and requirements.
• Perform general building, facility, and production maintenance tasks as needed.
• Support production operations by responding to emergency breakdowns and performing planned maintenance activities.
• Operate lifts and other maintenance equipment safely to access elevated or hard-to-reach areas.
• Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working around moving equipment, electrical systems, and elevated work areas.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned to support maintenance and production operations.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance environment preferred, with hands-on exposure to production equipment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing and repairing mechanical components, drives, and assemblies.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with 480V systems, motors, and electrical controls.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.
• Proficient mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills for industrial machinery and conveyor systems.
• Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics used in industrial equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a maintenance and production team.
• Basic math and computer skills to complete documentation, work orders, and equipment records.
• Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to bend, twist, push, pull, climb ladders, and work at heights up to 25 feet.
• Ability to operate lifts and other maintenance equipment safely.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily maintenance activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Welding and fabrication experience, including the use of welding and cutting equipment to repair or modify components.
• Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Experience with PLCs and automation systems, including troubleshooting and basic adjustments.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and motor controls in an industrial environment.
• Experience in manufacturing equipment maintenance and conveyor systems maintenance.
• Exposure to preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Controls experience, including working with control systems and related equipment.
• Valid drivers license preferred for occasional off-site tasks or equipment transport.
• Willingness to learn new equipment, systems, and maintenance techniques and to adapt to evolving technologies.

Work Environment

The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and to work at heights up to 25 feet, including operating lifts and other access equipment when needed. Work hours may include overtime opportunities based on production and maintenance needs, and you will work around industrial machinery, conveyor systems, electrical panels, and various maintenance tools and equipment in a hands-on, shop-floor environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44720.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
