Job summary

Amcor is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician in Shelbyville, KY to install, test, repair and maintain electrical and electronic plant equipment across the site. You will troubleshoot using PLCs and schematics, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with upgrades and safety improvements to minimize downtime.

The role requires hands-on experience, strong problem solving, and adherence to OHSE policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with technical training.
  • Minimum 4 years manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC, Eurotherm, Siemens drives, PLC process control.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics, perform IPC calibration.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain it.
  • Strong safety culture and OHSE compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, repair, and maintain electrical/ electronic plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment using PLCs, manuals, diagrams, and test tools.
  • Respond to emergency repairs and fire system issues outside hours.
  • Install conduits, wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and components.
  • Read and interpret PLC programs, blueprints, schematics and drawings.
  • Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance lead and engineering on upgrades and projects.

The Electrical Maintenance Technician also assists with related upgrades, improvements, and assigned projects as required. The Electrical Maintenance Technician is expected to report to and assist with both electrical and mechanical issues.Job Dimensions:Support Maintenance Team members.Troubleshooting, repairing and improving all processes and equipment.Follow the Amcor Values and Life-saving rules at all times.Be a team player and foster a positive work environment with all Amcor co-workers.The Electrical Maintenance Technician has no direct reports.Principal Accountabilities:Receives and performs job assignments through work orders, sketches, PM schedules, blueprints, or verbal instructions. Follows applicable codes and regulations on work performed.Troubleshoot equipment through the use of PLC Programs, manuals, and diagrams as necessary.Responds to emergency requests for repairs/replacements, including fire system malfunctions which may be reported during off-hours.Troubleshoots all malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and remedy the breakdown or malfunction.Installation of conduits, wire connections to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair. Ensures compliance to code.Repairs and maintains various production machinery and equipment, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and parts.Installs, modifies, and relocates machinery and equipment and will perform other maintenance tasks in addition to electrical-related work.Repairs and modifies building and plant systems as required.Reads and interprets PLC programs, manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and other written installation and repair instructions.Performs routine inspections, breakdown maintenance, and preventative maintenance of all plant equipment.
