Job summary

Amcor LLC in Kentucky seeks a Maintenance Journeyman to support production by inspecting and repairing pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, electrical and mechanical systems. You will lead the Maintenance Journeyman or Apprentice in absence of the Group Lead and act as technical lead during high-priority breakdowns.

You will collaborate with the Engineering team on continuous improvements, maintain safe work environments, and pursue training to stay current with job requirements.

Qualifications

• Able to work independently and with others.
• Exceptional Electrical and PLC skills; knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Able to accept responsibility for work performed.
• Excellent trouble shooting skills.
• Dependable and motivated.
• Good past work experience.
• Journeyman papers or equivalent technical degree preferred.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to work at heights (with or without fall protection).
• Hearing sufficient to recognize alarms on forklifts.
• Stereoptic vision 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70° or greater and ability to read 10–12 point font at 12–18 inches. Isihara color vision test.
• Ability to lift 45 pounds at a minimum of ten times per hour; 45 pounds over shoulder height ten times per hour.
• Able to work in extremes of heat/cold.
• Able to work independently in a potentially isolated area of the building.
• Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and/or paging system.

• Assume control of machine when a situation arises which has potential for personal injury or rapid deterioration of machine.
• Insure a safe and healthy work environment for department personnel.

Stereoptic vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches. Ability to complete an “Isihara” color vision test.12. Ability to lift 45 pounds at a minimum of ten times per hour.13. Ability to lift 45 pounds over shoulder height a minimum of ten times per hour.14. Able to work in extremes of heat/cold.15. Able to work independently in a potentially isolated area of the building.16.
