Job summary

Amcor LLC, Kentucky plant, is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on molding machinery and related equipment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose complex problems from PLCs and schematics, and log all repairs while maintaining safety and efficiency. Forklift operation and cross-functional teamwork are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years in industrial maintenance or related technical training.
  • Experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiar with PLC programming and reading electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and optic systems on molding and plant equipment.
  • Perform PMs, maintenance, and repairs to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Log all work accurately and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Operate forklift safely and assist with equipment installation or relocation as needed.
  • Train others and work as part of a cross-functional team.

Job DescriptionExemplifies the Amcor Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Amcor inside and outside of the plant.Work in a professional manner with other maintenance personnel and mold technicians as needed to keep all equipment in top working order resulting in only quality product being released to the customer.Troubleshoot, remove and replace different types of electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and optic systems.Pre-inspect parts or equipment to be repaired to determine what parts, supplies, forms, tools, tool repair and shop equipment are required; and communicate with Maintenance Manager.Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls.Replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears and related equipment.Communicate with other plant personnel when requested to, to review deficiencies.Accurately log all work performed.Maintain work areas in a clean orderly manner.Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.Perform PM’s, cleans and lubricates molding machines and equipmentModifies, repairs, and rebuilds plant machinery and equipmentPerforms mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repairVisually inspects and solves problem machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctionsMeasures parts to detect wear, misalignment or improper operationDocuments repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipmentPerforms other incidental and related duties as required and assignedPotential duties may also include: Fabrication and installation of related trades; performing building maintenance; and general facility repairsPerforms installation of new equipment and or relocation of equipmentUnderstanding of the functionality of relays, motor contactors, motor starters, solid state relays, soft starts and variable frequency drives.Familiarity with operation and troubleshooting of PLC programmingAbility to read, interpret, and trouble shoot using schematic diagramsAbility to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and serviceExperience in electrical distribution and machine controls ranging from 24 to 480 volts AC/DCSafely perform plant lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, hazard communication program, personal protective equipment and other safety programs and apply these procedures when working on equipment.Other duties and/or jobs as assigned.EDUCATIONAL, SKILL, & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years industrial maintenance, manufacturing, technical school &/or Associates degree from an accredited technical institute or combination education and experience.Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.Good hand-eye coordination is required.Frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds.Specific vision abilities required include distance, peripheral, and depth perception.Frequently exposed to fumes, or airborne particles.Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.Good communication skills-verbal and written; must effectively communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self-starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance driven environment.Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Ability to work as a cross-functional team member.Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self-starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance driven environment.Extensive knowledge with electrical, hydraulic and injection molding machines.Strong PLC programming skills.Ability to train others and work as a cross-functional team member.Our ExpectationsWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
