Responsibilities
- Communicating effectively with appropriate departments/individuals and gaining a thorough understanding of applicable devices in the facility.
- Working safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by always following safety rules and regulations including proper wearing of company PPE.
- Assisting ARP Planners with scheduling and prioritizing maintenance activities.
- Participating in company Safety Programs and proactively upholding the Safety Culture.
- Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment, hand tools, and personal knowledge to determine root cause.
- Exercising judgment when troubleshooting AC/DC motor controls, PLC, electrical drives, and all high voltage systems, keeping them all up to the site voltage maximums.
- Inspecting and performing daily maintenance on all shop machinery, mobile equipment, HVAC Systems, PLC networks, and cranes.
- Maintaining a thorough working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, distribution control, fluidic, and electrical systems/components and how to operate them.
- Maintaining specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and material usage.
- Performing necessary maintenance tasks including repair or replacement of damaged parts, adjustments, calibration procedures, assembly, installation, testing, and executing preventative maintenance on various manufacturing equipment.
- Providing technical assistance to maintenance and production personnel as needed.
- Performing daily housekeeping duties including maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Using SAP maintenance module and other computer systems to acquire information, document work, account for time, and record corrective actions.
- Working with diagnostic equipment including digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic tools.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (or 2 years + related trade school/training).
- C/DC troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work at heights for extended periods.
- Logical, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Electrical controls maintenance and repair proficiency.
- Knowledge of melting, casting, and rolling processes and related equipment (preferred).
- Experience with SAP system (preferred).
- Demonstrated electrical and mechanical maintenance principles, troubleshooting techniques, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Compliance with FPA 70E electrical safety requirements (preferred).
- Experience with Siemens and/or other PLC troubleshooting (preferred).
- Understanding of electrical safe work practices.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
