Job summary

Forest Hills Assisted Living Retirement Care Center is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee the upkeep and safety of the center’s facilities and equipment. You will manage staff, schedule preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs to ensure a secure environment for residents.

This on-site leadership role requires experience in institutional maintenance, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with administration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Experience in institutional maintenance preferred.
• Experience with TELS and DSSI preferred.
• Must be able to operate a vehicle.
• Moderate computer skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Strong organization and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Administrator regarding the physical and structural conditions of the center and the status of work in progress.
• Perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner reflecting the highest integrity of the Maintenance Department.
• Monitor departmental staff matters including interviewing and hiring, training, evaluating, promotion, counseling, discipline, and termination.
• Develop, evaluate, and implement department policies and procedures, goals, objectives, and standards of work for maintenance and repair of equipment, buildings, and building systems.
• Coordinate the repair of equipment or replacement of center equipment as necessary.
• Schedule and supervise maintenance work, renovations, and servicing of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Maintain an inventory of parts and supplies to maximize operational readiness while respecting costs and safety regulations.
• Develop and administer the annual operating budget for staff and equipment.
