Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director in Texas to supervise the maintenance department, focusing on life safety inspections, HVAC, and routine upkeep to ensure compliance and a sanitary, safe center.

The role includes managing preventive maintenance, documentation, and interaction with residents and staff to address environmental service requests and infection prevention efforts.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma and supervisory experience.
• 1–2 years supervisory experience in a commercial setting with laundry/housekeeping/maintenance knowledge.
• 2+ years of work in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Environmental Services staff and daily work across the center, controlling expenses and resolving interdepartmental issues.
• Executes the preventive maintenance program and keeps records for peak physical function.
• Maintains center documentation, replacement parts, and fuel supply records.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs per applicable codes and regulations.
• Coordinates with residents, nurses, physicians and staff on environmental requests and infection prevention, providing timely follow-up.
• Keeps electrical and mechanical equipment in good order and reports serious failures to the Administrator.
