Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to lead life safety inspections, HVAC, and regular maintenance for an environmental center. The role emphasizes supervising the maintenance department to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local codes while keeping the facility sanitary, attractive, and safe.

The ideal candidate will coordinate with nursing staff and administrators, maintain preventive programs, and ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

High School diploma is required.
1–2 years of supervisory experience in a commercial setting with laundry/housekeeping/maintenance knowledge.
Minimum 2 years in long-term care preferred.
Must have LTC experience (prefer Life Safety) and experience with TELS.

Responsibilities

Oversee Environmental Services staff and daily operations, controlling expenses and coordinating tasks.
Execute the preventive maintenance program and maintain records of activity and parts.
Document maintenance history and fuel supplies for the center.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs per applicable codes and regulations.
Collaborate with residents, nurses, physicians, and staff to address environmental service requests and infection prevention.
Maintain electrical and mechanical equipment in good order; report serious failures to the Administrator.
