Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, a 146-bed skilled nursing facility, seeks an experienced Maintenance Director to lead the maintenance department, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. The role offers $30–$35 per hour, with weekly pay and competitive benefits.

Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing maintenance operations, supervising staff and contractors, and implementing preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory maintenance/plant role.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators and related systems.
• Ability to read blueprints; knowledge of building codes & safety regs.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to supervise professional and non-professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Meet the maintenance needs of the facility.
• Recognize hazards to residents or staff safety and take action.
• Replace, repair, and purchase items per policy.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance with documentation.
• Maintain weather protection against cold, heat, fire and hazards.
• Supervise outside contractors.
• Serve on-call for emergencies and off-hours.
• Perform errands and tasks as required.
• Maintain exterior upkeep in all weather.
• Demonstrate and teach safety techniques per policy.
