Job summary

Monarch Healthcare Management seeks a Maintenance Director to oversee all facility maintenance operations, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, water, sewage, and fire safety systems. The role includes preventive maintenance, coordinating contract services, and supervising staff with onboarding and training.

Responsibilities extend to inventory management, purchasing documentation, and supporting compliance and quality improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• Must have thorough knowledge of general maintenance, such as boilers, heating and air conditioning units, refrigerators and freezers, electrical wiring, etc.
• Boiler license is required.
• Must possess leadership ability and the ability and willingness to cooperate and communicate with all staff and Department Directors.
• Must qualify for employment, after criminal background study, per guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
• Two (2) years of experience in maintenance and power plant work is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all facility maintenance operations, ensuring equipment, building systems, and outdoor areas are safe, functional, and compliant with regulations.
• Manage plumbing, electrical, HVAC, water, sewage, and fire safety systems; perform and document preventive maintenance; coordinate contract services; and complete routine repairs.
• Supervise maintenance staff, assign tasks, participate in hiring and evaluations, and provide training during onboarding.
• Manage inventory, order supplies and equipment within budget guidelines, and maintain clear purchasing documentation.
• Support compliance and quality improvement efforts by staying current with state and federal regulations, attending trainings and audits, and contributing to policy development.
• Uphold resident rights and confidentiality, and be available for evening or weekend needs when required.

Maintenance Director

A professional and collaborative approach is essential, as the Maintenance Director supports other departments, upholds resident rights and confidentiality, and is available for evening or weekend needs when required.

• Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing facility or assisted living community
• Minnesota Engineer-Class C license is preferred
• Two (2) years of experience in maintenance and power plant work is desirable.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and pivot with sudden demands of your attention
• Ability to clearly speak and proficiently read and write in English
