A leading senior living community is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to ensure building and grounds are effectively maintained. This role requires coordination of maintenance tasks, oversight of housekeeping, and collaboration with the management team to ensure a safe and pleasant living environment for residents. Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in maintenance or environmental services.
  • Experience in grounds maintenance (lawn and plant care).
  • Familiarity with general cleaning procedures and food handling regulations.

Position Summary: Coordinate tasks needed to maintain the buildings and grounds in an excellent state of repair, cleanliness and attractive appearance. Ensure the community exterior and interior is held to First Impression standards at all times. Oversee and assist with the general housekeeping of all public areas and the routine cleaning of residents’ units both occupied and unoccupied. Perks & Benefits:

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Building Exterior

  • Ensure that lawns and flowerbeds are manicured, watered and fertilized.
  • Ensure that roads are plowed during the winter, driveways and sidewalks are cleared of snow, and sidewalks are salted to prevent icing.

General Maintenance

  • Establish and carry out a preventative maintenance program.
  • Inspect building and grounds daily and repair items identified as needing repair.
  • Ensure safe and proper storage of cleaning supplies, chemicals, tools and equipment.
  • Check daily for work requests of staff and residents and complete requests promptly.
  • Reports problems with the interior and exterior of the building and any equipment to Executive Director.
  • Assist with development of the maintenance budget and operate within budget guidelines.
  • Perform periodic structural (visual) assessments of the building and report any observed defects.
  • Provide weekly inspections and routine maintenance on company vehicles. Arrange for all repair work and routine maintenance for handicap lift.
  • Coordinate and oversee outside contractors for any required maintenance/ repair work.
  • Requisition supplies needed within the annual budget, requesting approval for non-budgeted items.
  • Ensure proper removal and disposal of trash.
  • Assist with room setup and cleanup for special events.

Work with management team to ensure efficient operation of facility

  • Ensure a safe living environment.
  • Assist with serving meals, as needed.
  • Assume on-call duties, as required.
  • Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Other Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years experience in maintenance or environmental services
  • Experience in grounds maintenance (lawn and plant care)
  • Experience with cleaning occupied apartments, hotel cleaning, or long-term care facilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
  • Function and operation of kitchen appliances, office equipment, maintenance equipment and grounds equipment, with ability to do minor repairs
  • Understanding of and ability to repair minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical problems
  • Proper care and maintenance of lawns, trees, shrubs, and other plants
  • Drywall repair and painting
  • Outdoor responsibilities in winter and summer

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with general cleaning procedures
  • Food handling regulations
  • HVAC certification is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and help others
  • Enjoyment in working with older adults
