Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & repairs: perform repairs on equipment and keep building compliant with codes.

About The Role

As an integral part of our leadership and care team, the Maintenance Director/Manager will keep the building(s), equipment, and utilities in good working order and facility grounds properly maintained to ensure a safe environment optimal for quality patient care. This role is a great combination of both hands-on tasks and department management!

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Repairs: Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment and supplies, and keep the building in compliance with Federal, State, and Local codes and laws.
• Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Possess an understanding of OSHA and safety regulations, follow established safety rules and department policies, and test the emergency generator weekly and monthly as required by State and Federal regulations.
• Leadership & Team Management: Oversee daily department operations, interview and make recommendations for hiring maintenance staff, provide training and orientation, and offer coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
• Budget & Administration: Order and requisition supplies and equipment within budgetary guidelines, manage budgets, and fulfill overall department supervisor responsibilities.
• Collaboration & Education: Cooperate with and support other department supervisors and employees, integrate well with other department leaders to ensure high-level care, attend department supervisor meetings, participate in required committees, and lead/attend monthly in-service education programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma.
• Experience: Practical knowledge of day-to-day maintenance and facility physical plant upkeep. Experience in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing preferred.
• Supervisory Experience: One (1) year of supervisory and management experience, which may include recruiting staff, coaching, performance management, and overseeing daily department operations.
• Skills & Values: Organized and detailed, strong ability to lead staff and provide strong leadership within the facility, and a genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility.
