Job summary

Holiday Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Rhode Island is seeking a Director of Maintenance for a full-time, on-site role. The position leads all facility maintenance, oversees preventive programs, ensures codes and safety compliance, and supervises staff and vendors.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm with on-call weekends; daily pay option is highlighted, with a salary range of $75,000–$80,000 annually. The facility is a 170-bed Sub-Acute and Long-Term Care center.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years in a maintenance role.
• Nursing home or healthcare facility experience required.
• HVAC certification strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and system schematics.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
• Licensed or certified per state and regulatory requirements.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance operations to ensure the facility is safe, functional, and well-maintained at all times.
• Manage preventative maintenance programs, equipment repairs, and facility systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, safety regulations, and facility standards.
• Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and high-quality completion of work.
• Maintain and monitor critical facility systems, including boilers, compressors, generators, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety standards are consistently met.
• Interpret and utilize blueprints, technical manuals, and system documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance documentation.
• Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies to ensure resident safety and continuity of care.
