Maintenance Director
University Nursing and Rehab is looking for a Maintenance Director to assist in the general maintenance and repairs of our Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). The ideal candidate must have at 3 years’ experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting and general maintenance. A passion for working with seniors and a customer-service attitude are a must!
Responsibilities:
Plans, organizes, develops and directs the general operating maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the facility and maintains proper operations of the property.
Must be knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance in our SNF.
Periodically check the maintenance communication books and complete any tasks listed and sign once complete.
Maintains the care and use of supplies, equipment.
Paint and touch up areas as necessary.
Cleans and changes heaters/air conditioner filters as necessary. Tests the fire alarm weekly.
Makes sure all designated emergency exits and walkways are clear and free from any barriers.
Conduct audits, tests and maintain monthly logs for all areas of life safety code and other equipment maintenance.
Ensure fire safety and other inspections are complete.
Develop relationships with community resources, such as the fire department.
Responds to employees and resident’s needs.
Performs maintenance duties as requested by facility supervisor.
Requirements
Must have previous management experience.
Must have at least two years of experience in Healthcare Maintenance.
Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.
Must be knowledgeable of Emergency preparedness and Safety.
Must be knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing maintenance in a SNF.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances permit such action.
Must be able to work independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and be able to work effectively with the residents, families, and personnel.
