Primary Responsibility

The Maintenance Coordinator / Lead Technician at IFT Worldwide is responsible for coordinating and performing maintenance activities necessary to maximize equipment uptime, reliability, production support, safety, and customer satisfaction.


This is a working maintenance position that combines hands‑on maintenance responsibilities with the coordination, scheduling, planning, and prioritization of maintenance activities. The individual will work closely with the Corporate Maintenance Manage, Plant Manager, Production, Facilities, Environmental, Safety, and other departments to ensure maintenance activities are properly prioritized and completed in a timely and cost‑effective manner.


The Maintenance Coordinator / Lead Technician will provide technical leadership to the maintenance team, perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs, coordinate preventive maintenance activities, support new projects, manage outside vendors, and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.


The individual will also support the company’s Environmental Team and assist with maintaining a safe, clean, reliable, and environmentally compliant facility.


Specific Responsibilities


  • Coordinate and schedule daily maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, emergency, and project work.

  • Prioritize maintenance activities with the Plant Manager and Production to minimize downtime and support production requirements.

  • Perform hands‑on preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production equipment, facility equipment, and supporting systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, controls, and other industrial equipment.

  • Identify potential equipment failures and take proactive action to prevent downtime.

  • Ensure timely completion of PM work orders, work requests, PIRs, corrective maintenance, and other assigned work.

  • Maintain accurate equipment, maintenance, PM, and inventory information within the company CMMS.

  • Monitor PM completion, maintenance backlog, and recurring equipment failures and recommend improvements.

  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, start‑ups, commissioning, and new project implementation.

  • Support production through the design, fabrication, modification, or purchase of racks, fixtures, tools, equipment, and other production‑support items.

  • Assist the Plant Manager with maintenance methods, equipment selection, project planning, staffing recommendations, and resource requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, productivity, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

  • Investigate and recommend maintenance vendors and monitor existing vendors for cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.

  • Coordinate outside contractors performing maintenance, inspections, testing, repairs, or facility work.

  • Maintain appropriate maintenance parts, tools, supplies, and critical spare‑parts inventories.

  • Assist with the maintenance and inspection of fire protection, security, emergency, and facility systems.

  • Support the Environmental Team and company safety initiatives as they relate to maintenance and facility operations.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and properly maintained working environment.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to maintenance personnel.

  • Assist with troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and recurring equipment problems.

  • Maintain required maintenance records, documentation, and project information.

  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.

  • Coach and Develop Talent —Works with and alongside Maintenance Technicians to help build working knowledge through hands on training and development.

  • Oversees Daily Maintenance Duties — Oversees the day to day workflow of maintenance responsibilities under the direction of the Corporate Maintenance Manager.

  • Coach for Performance — Provides timely information and scheduling to the on‑site Maintenance Technicians to set clear expectations and goals under the direction of the Corporate Maintenance Manager.

  • Demonstrate Professional Competence — Applies strong technical aptitude, analytical problem‑solving, organizational discipline, time‑management skills and works to develop the Maintenance team in these same competencies.


Job Requirements

Job Level


  • This position operates at a coordinator level. Although some requirements of the job can be considered routine, many aspects require good judgment and decision‑making skills.


Knowledge/Experience


  • The person in this position should have a high degree of technical understanding, and process techniques. This person should be a self‑starter, proactive, leader by example, and should demonstrate a \"Whatever it takes\" attitude.


Job Complexity


  • Assignments are moderately complex in nature, primarily due to our changing customer demands, and “job shop” processes.


Supervision


  • Normally receives no instructions on routine work, and general instructions on new assignments.


Continuing Education


  • The individual is encouraged to complete at least 24 hours of job related training per year.This may be accomplished through University‑level courses, seminars, continuing education courses, or as approved by the Executive Management Committee.They should stay current with industry technology through trade publications, and attending trade shows/seminars approved by Imagineering.


Travel


  • This position rarely requires travel.However, local and overnight travel may be required occasionally.
