Marvin is hiring for a Maintenance Controls Tech I on the weekend shift in Fargo, ND. The role focuses on troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues on production equipment and providing feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor.

You’ll document repairs and PM tasks in the EAM system while collaborating with the team. The position requires 2 years of related experience; an Associate’s degree is strongly preferred, and candidates must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a closely related role is required.
• Associate's degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on production equipment.
• Provide feedback to Maintenance Supervisor on wiring, programming, or part changes.
• Document repairs and PM activities using the EAM system.
• Observe equipment to detect hazards and service needs.
• Operate and learn PLC programming concepts and related controls.

Job Overview

The Controls Technician will assume basic tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment. This position is responsible for observing equipment to provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor as needed.

You will work Friday through Sunday from 6:00AM-6:00PM.

Highlights of your role

• Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, providing feedback and ideas before any implementation of controls changes. (i.e. wiring changes, programming changes, or part change out such as VFD, servo motors)
• Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems and the need for service.
• Learn the skills required to navigate PLC Programming.
• Work efficiently with work order system (EAM) to document repairs and PM maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Proper use a digital multimeter.
• Works closely with maintenance and is able to assist with troubleshooting electrical problems.
• Concisely and accurately documents set-points and parameters for equipment.
