Job summary

Marvin Composites is hiring an Automation & Controls Technician for the night shift at our Fargo, ND location. You’ll troubleshoot, repair, and support PLC-controlled automation systems on the plant floor, ensuring equipment reliability and uptime.

Working with maintenance, automation, and engineering teams, you’ll diagnose issues, implement fixes, and contribute to continuous improvement projects, including wiring and schematic updates.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree preferred in a related field.
• PLC programming knowledge or coursework.
• Strong written and verbal communication across departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance for PLC-controlled automation and control systems.
• Diagnose and fix automation and controls issues on the plant floor.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations and engineering to ensure equipment reliability.
• Document repair requests and track issues in maintenance systems.

In this role, you’ll work closely with Maintenance Technicians, Automation & Controls Technicians, Engineers, and Operations, responding to floor calls, resolving automation and controls issues, and ensuring equipment reliability. If you enjoy diagnosing problems in real time and using your knowledge of control systems to help keep production running, this could be a great fit.

Schedule

Monday - Thursday, 6:30 PM – 6:45 AM

Pay

$29.00-38.00/hour ( based on experience) + 20% Night Shift Premium

Highlights of your role

• Provide troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance support for PLC-controlled automation and control systems
• Diagnose, repair, and replace mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components
• Perform timely machine wiring, sensor replacement, control panel troubleshooting support
• Utilize maintenance systems to document repair requests, track issues, and support preventive maintenance activities.
• Collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to support safe and efficient production

You’re a good fit if you have (or if you can)

• Two-year technical degree preferred, such as Mechatronics, Industrial technology, or a related field
• Three or more years of relevant experience with industrial automation or control systems may substitute for a degree
• PLC programming experience or education
• Ability to communicate effectively throughout various department levels
