Job summary

Marvin Composites, LLC. in Fargo, ND is seeking an Automation & Controls Technician for night shifts to support PLC-controlled automation on the plant floor. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain control systems, assist with wiring and schematics upgrades, and help ensure equipment reliability.

You will collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering to keep production running smoothly, while leveraging a two-year technical degree (or equivalent experience) and PLC knowledge.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree preferred in Mechatronics or Industrial Technology.
• Three or more years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• PLC programming experience or education.
• Ability to communicate effectively across departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance support for PLC-controlled automation and control systems.
• Diagnose, repair, and replace mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
• Perform timely machine wiring, sensor replacement, control panel troubleshooting support.
• Utilize maintenance systems to document repair requests, track issues, and support preventive maintenance activities.
• Collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to support safe and efficient production.

Job Overview

Marvin Composites is hiring an Automation & Controls Technician on our night shift, at the Fargo, ND location. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys being hands-on with equipment and applying automation skills directly on the plant floor. The primary focus of this role will be on automation and automatic controls related troubleshooting, repairs and day-to-day operational support. A secondary focus includes supporting controls related equipment improvement and upgrade projects, such as equipment upgrades, improvements, program changes and improvements, upgrading or improving control panel wiring, and creating or updating schematics.

In this role, you’ll work closely with Maintenance Technicians, Automation & Controls Technicians, Engineers, and Operations, responding to floor calls, resolving automation and controls issues, and ensuring equipment reliability. If you enjoy diagnosing problems in real time and using your knowledge of control systems to help keep production running, this could be a great fit.

Schedule:

Monday - Thursday, 6:30 PM – 6:45 AM

Pay:

$29.00-38.00/hour (based on experience) + 20% Night Shift Premium
