Job summary

Davis Furniture, a family-owned high-end furniture manufacturer in High Point, NC, seeks a Facilities & Site Operations Technician to maintain buildings, grounds, and campus infrastructure. You will handle routine maintenance, safety compliance, and emergency response to keep our production environment safe and efficient.

Responsibilities include CDL-driven transport, room setup, tool use, inventory tracking, and coordination with vendors.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance and campus operations.
• Knowledge of OSHA and DOT safety policies.
• Ability to complete work orders and maintenance reports.
• Experience with vehicle operation and pre/post-trip inspections.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Facilities & Building Maintenance

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buildings, grounds, and campus infrastructure.

Inspect facilities to identify repair needs, safety concerns, and code compliance issues.

Complete work orders involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.

Maintain and repair doors, locks, fixtures, lighting, flooring, and exterior structures.

Assist with seasonal maintenance (snow removal, leaf removal, grounds upkeep).

Campus / Site Operations

Support operations by setting up and breaking down rooms, equipment, and furniture as needed.

Assist with moving materials, equipment, and supplies between buildings or sites.

Collect scrap wood and cardboard and take it to its designated location.

Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and after-hours service calls when required.

Maintain clean, safe, and functional work areas in compliance with safety standards.

CDL Driving & Transportation

Operate CDL-required vehicles such as dump trucks, plow trucks, box trucks, or buses as assigned.

Transport materials, equipment, and supplies safely between locations.

Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects or maintenance needs.

Maintain accurate driving logs and comply with DOT and CDL regulations.

Assist with snow plowing, sanding, and salting operations using CDL equipment.

Safety & Compliance

Follow OSHA, DOT, and campus safety policies and procedures.

Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.

Maintain knowledge of safety regulations related to facilities maintenance and vehicle operation.

Report hazards, incidents, and injuries promptly.

Documentation & Communication

Complete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance logs accurately.

Communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, contractors, and campus personnel.

Assist in coordinating with outside vendors and contractors when needed.

Equipment & Inventory

Operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.

Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working condition.

Track and report usage of materials and supplies.
