Job summary

Davis Furniture Industries Inc is seeking an assembler to support our high-end furniture production. You will assemble wood table components and finished products following product specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities include reading instructions, using hand and power tools, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. Prior furniture assembly experience is a plus in a fast-paced environment.

Business at Davis is thriving! Sales are up, so we are actively seeking new team members to meet the continually growing demand. This position could be assembling tables, chairs, or any other component that goes into the production of our product line.


Requirements

The Assembler is responsible for assembling and preparing wood table components and finished products according to company specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to use hand and power tools, and a commitment to producing high-quality furniture in a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Assemble wood table components, including tops, legs, bases, frames, and other hardware, according to product specifications.

  • Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment necessary to complete assembly tasks.

  • Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, assembly diagrams, and measurements.

  • Inspect wood components and materials for defects, damage, or inconsistencies before and during assembly.

  • Ensure finished products meet Davis Furniture’s quality and workmanship standards.

  • Measure, align, fit, and secure components to ensure proper assembly and product stability.

  • Maintain production pace to meet daily and weekly production goals.

  • Identify and report defective materials, equipment malfunctions, and quality concerns to the supervisor.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards.

  • Follow all established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities for Consideration as a Candidate


  • Must be 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Previous assembly or manufacturing experience (furniture experience a plus)

  • Ability to use basic hand tools (screwdrivers, drills, wrenches, etc.)

  • Ability to read measurements and follow instructions

  • Strong attention to detail and quality

  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
