Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Ability to climb all ladder sizes.
• Ability to perform routine walking, bending, and carrying of heavy items.
• Experience in building maintenance and construction.
• Basic knowledge of building systems.

Responsibilities

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Inspects and repairs roof as needed.
• Inspects and repairs door hardware.
• Inspects and repairs floor coverings.
• Performs rough and finish carpentry.
• Constructs and installs millwork.
• Forms, pours, and finishes concrete.
• Operates construction equipment and hand tools.
• Applies knowledge of ADA compliance.
• Has basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
• Maintains the District work order system and forms.
• Follows all MSDS directions and safety procedures.
• Willing to assist with other assignments as needed.
• Communicates effectively with staff and students.

Terms Of Employment

The contract length will be 240 days.

Evaluation

Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the maintenance supervisor.

Job Goal

The Maintenance - Carpenter will endeavor to maintain the school facilities and grounds. The Maintenance - Carpenter will establish a knowledge of maintaining building systems and grounds to provide a safe and pleasant learning environment for all students and staff.

Performance Responsibilities

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Maintains facilities building systems, to include:
• Roof inspection and repair.
• Door hardware inspection and repair.
• Inspection and repair of floor coverings.
• Rough and finish carpentry.
• Construction and installation of millwork.
• Forming, pouring, and finishing of concrete.
• Operating of construction equipment and hand tools.
• Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance
• Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
• Maintains and uses the District work order system and District forms.
• Follows all Material Safety Data Sheet directions on all chemical products used by the Conway Public School District; uses proper labeling and follows all safety procedures.
• Willing to assist with other assignments given by the maintenance supervisor.
• Ability to work and communicate with other Conway Public School District personnel and students.
• Other duties, as assigned.
