Job summary

Mount Pleasant Independent School District is seeking a Maintenance - Carpenter to perform general carpentry, maintenance and repair of district buildings and structures in Mount Pleasant, TX. Immediate start with regular supervision by the Maintenance Director.

The role requires a valid Texas CDL with P and S endorsements, ability to read blueprints, and the skill to operate hand and power tools. DOT drug testing and physicals must be passed.

Qualifications

• Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsement.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and safety manuals.
• Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Must pass U.S. DOT drug/alcohol tests and physical exam.

Job Description

As Assigned by Maintenance Director

Perform general carpentry, maintenance and repair of buildings and structures throughout district. Assist with any other maintenance needs as assigned by supervisor.

Perform major repairs with minimal supervision to ensure proper performance. Perform assigned work following established policies and procedures. Perform daily cleaning of shop area and vehicle.

Education/Certification

Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsement.

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbally)

• Ability to visually inspect and service vehicles
