Performs and/or assists in duties necessary for the installation, repair, and/or maintenance of building equipment and systems.

Job Responsibilities

1. Uses hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments to repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.
2. Ensures new machines are prepared for operation according to protocols and procedures, and performs regular technical testing to ensure their safety and efficiency.
3. Collects data on machine operation and suggests actions to reduce machine downtime.
4. Performs work under general supervision.
5. Handles moderately complex issues and problems, referring more complex issues to higher-level staff.
6. Possesses solid working knowledge of the subject matter.
