River Mews Apartments in Newport News, VA is seeking a Maintenance Assistant (Apartment Turn Technician) to join our maintenance team. The role focuses on apartment turns and interior repairs to prepare homes for incoming residents and offers growth within a 645-unit community.

We value candidates with basic maintenance or construction experience, a self-starter mindset, and good English communication. In-house EPA 608 training and other benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 1 year of apartment turnover or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic carpentry and repair skills (drywall, doors) are a plus.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, or appliance repair is a plus.
• Self-starter with a strong problem-solving mindset.
• Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office 365 and mobile devices.
• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal); bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support apartment turns and interior repairs to prep homes for new residents.
