Job summary

Troy Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Troy, Ohio is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our dedicated team and help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents and staff. You will work closely with the Maintenance Director on routine maintenance tasks and respond to repair requests to uphold our high standards of care.

Ideal candidates have healthcare maintenance experience, basic plumbing/electrical/HVAC knowledge, and a focus on safety and reliability.

Position Overview

As a Maintenance Assistant at New Lebanon, you will play a key role in ensuring our facility is well-maintained, functional, and safe. You will work alongside the Maintenance Director and other team members to perform routine maintenance tasks, respond to repair requests, and help uphold the high standards of our facility.

What You’ll Do

• Facility Maintenance: Perform general repairs, preventative maintenance, and upkeep of the building, equipment, and grounds.
• Safety Checks: Conduct regular inspections to ensure the facility complies with safety regulations and standards.
• Respond to Requests: Address maintenance-related requests from residents and staff in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist with Projects: Support the Maintenance Director with larger projects, renovations, and improvements.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Help ensure common areas, mechanical rooms, and outdoor spaces are clean and orderly.
• Emergency Response: Be prepared to assist with emergency maintenance issues, such as plumbing, electrical, or HVAC concerns.
• Inventory Management: Assist with managing maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and usage.

• Experience: Prior experience in building maintenance, repair work, or facility operations preferred (healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus).
• Skills: Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair.
