Monroe Springs Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to lead the maintenance operations of our skilled nursing facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our residents, families, employees, and visitors.
Long-Term Care experience is required. Candidates without skilled nursing or long-term care maintenance leadership experience will not be considered.
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility maintenance, life safety compliance, environmental systems, preventative maintenance programs, and regulatory readiness. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who takes pride in maintaining a high-quality environment and understands the unique demands of healthcare facilities.
Direct and oversee all maintenance operations for the facility
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and life safety regulations
Manage preventative maintenance programs and documentation
Oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, emergency power, and building systems
Maintain survey readiness and support state and federal inspections
Coordinate vendor services and contractor activities
Manage maintenance budgets, supplies, and inventory
Respond to facility emergencies and after-hours maintenance issues as needed
Lead, coach, and develop maintenance team members
Partner with department leaders to support resident care and facility operations
Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility, Healthcare Setting or Long-Term Care setting
Strong knowledge of Life Safety Code requirements and healthcare facility regulations
Experience with preventative maintenance programs and regulatory compliance
Ability to troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Trade certifications or technical training
Experience preparing for and participating in state surveys
Knowledge of emergency preparedness and safety programs
