The Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to help keep our facility running smoothly. If you enjoy hands-on work, solving problems, and want to learn and grow, we'd love to hear from you!

The Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Department with repair, maintenance, and upkeep of the facility and equipment. This role performs routine maintenance, assists with preventative maintenance, and supports projects as directed by the Maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous maintenance, handyman, construction, landscaping, or mechanical experience is a plus, but not required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and good attendance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders when needed.
• Ability to read, write, and speak basic English; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general building maintenance and repairs.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and the facility.
• Help with minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting projects.
• Assist with equipment moves, assembly, and facility improvement projects.
• Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
