Job summary

Chestnut Woods Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for a part-time role in Massachusetts. The incumbent will perform daily rounds, minor repairs, and safety-focused tasks to keep the facility welcoming and safe for residents, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 1+ years general maintenance experience; prior skilled nursing facility exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of general maintenance experience required (painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or related trades).
• Skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily rounds throughout the facility to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs to facility systems and equipment.
• Review maintenance request logs and complete work orders accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with staff to support improvements in resident spaces and facility environment.
• Assist with furniture moves, equipment repairs, and general maintenance projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly to support resident safety and comfort.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and facility policies.

Responsibilities for the Maintenance Assistant:

• Complete daily physical rounds throughout the facility to identify and address maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs to facility systems and equipment.
• Review maintenance request logs regularly and complete work orders accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with staff to support improvements in resident living spaces and overall facility environment.
• Assist with furniture moves, equipment repairs, and general maintenance projects as assigned.
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently to support resident safety and comfort.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.
