Beecher Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to keep residents safe and comfortable by performing repairs, completing routine maintenance, and coordinating with contractors as needed.

The role covers carpentry, plumbing, electrical tasks, HVAC upkeep, and record-keeping, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and clear English communication; lifting up to 100 lbs and after-hours calls may be required.

Formación

• Experience in building maintenance including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work.
• Understanding of safety regulations for facilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical exertion, including lifting.

Responsabilidades

• Complete work orders from Maintenance Director (bulbs, filters, painting, plumbing, carpentry).
• Maintain facility areas: grounds, fences, parking, furniture, HVAC systems.
• Keep service equipment and power tools in good condition; maintain records.
• Conduct daily inspections of building, grounds, and equipment; use work order system.
• Identify and resolve safety hazards to protect residents, visitors, and staff.

Maintenance Assistant Requirements

• Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general building maintenance
• Understanding of building and fire safety regulations
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy exertion, including standing, reaching, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Ability to lift between 50 and 100 lbs. and be available for after-hours emergencies

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will

• Complete work orders assigned by the Maintenance Director, including changing light bulbs, AC filters, painting, plumbing, light carpentry, fixing sheetrock, and other maintenance duties
• Assist with maintenance of facility areas, including grounds, fences, parking areas, furniture, appliances, and HVAC systems
• Maintain and repair service equipment, power tools, and kitchen equipment
• Keep preventative maintenance records and utilize a work order tracking systemConduct daily inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment
• Identify and resolve potential safety hazards to protect residents, visitors, and staff
