Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all relevant standards, policies, and supervisor instructions to ensure a successful maintenance program.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Follow maintenance schedules for your shift or area.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance with departments in common areas.
  • Replenish supplies and inform supervisor of needs.
  • Assist with lifting heavy equipment or supplies as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance on grounds and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
  • Service heating and cooling systems as specified.
  • Participate in training programs to meet regulatory requirements.
Safety and Sanitation
  • Follow safety procedures during maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and tools are stored properly.
  • Dispose of refuse according to sanitation procedures.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept feedback. Tactful communication with personnel, residents, families, visitors, and authorities. Ability to work with ill, disabled, elderly, or potentially hostile individuals. Proficiency in English for effective communication.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.
