JOB OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing maintenance and housekeeping duties in the community and around the community grounds as assigned. Responsible for assisting with maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the residents, guests, and team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities:

• General Maintenance Duties:
  • Complete all maintenance tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform duties such as fixing wall and floor coverings, repairing furniture and fixtures, basic plumbing, minor electrical repairs, and appliance repairs.
  • Assist with painting and refurbishing projects.
  • Perform minor building and equipment repairs.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on Sunrise vehicles.
  • Maintain tools and repair parts.
  • Participate in fire drills and disaster preparedness programs.
• Mechanical Systems:
  • Assist with heating, air conditioning, water systems, refrigeration, motors, fans, electrical systems, and emergency generators.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance following safety regulations.
• Housekeeping Duties:
  • Maintain carpets and hard floors.
  • Deep clean resident suites and assist with housekeeping as needed.
• Risk Management and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
  • Practice safety procedures including PPE, fire safety, SDS, Lockout Tagout, and infection control.
  • Keep hazards out of walkways and maintain equipment safely.
• Resident Services:
  • Document activities in Daily and Maintenance Logs.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality.
  • Assist in driving community vehicles as assigned.
• Training and Team Contribution:
  • Participate actively in team efforts and engagement programs.
  • Attend meetings and complete required training.

Qualifications:

• One (1) year maintenance and/or housekeeping experience preferred.
• Technical school education preferred.
• Understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations.
• Ability to respond to emergency calls outside scheduled hours.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
