This position is eligible for Eskaton's health benefits package the first of the month following 60 days of employment and Paid Time Off benefits program after 90 days of employment.


Position Summary:
Responsible for the community's heating/cooling systems, water, gas, electrical, and mechanical systems. Is responsible for the general appearance and condition of the exterior of the building and grounds. Is responsible for maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations relating to the physical plant and safety requirements. Maintains the community in an aesthetic and well operating manner.


The starting salary for this position ranges from $20.00 to $24.98/hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.


This position is scheduled for AM shifts and has a weekly Tuesday-Saturday schedule.


Position Responsibilities include:



  • Repairs, replaces and otherwise maintains the physical plant, ventilation units, plumbing, thermostats, valves, etc.), electrical, refrigeration (condensers, defrosters, refrigerator, freezer, etc.), plumbing (toilets, sinks, water coolers, etc.), sheetrock (taping, texturing, etc.), painting, furnishings and fixtures, and landscape maintenance.

  • Keeps maintenance areas clean and orderly.

  • Installs, repairs, and maintains piping, fittings, and fixtures involves in the distribution and use of water and gas throughout the community.

  • Operates and makes minor repairs in the existing electrical systems throughout the community. This includes the installation of junction boxes, receptacles, and switches. Replaces motors, belts, pulleys, and micro-switches, either upon failure or as trouble-shooting malfunctions occur. Monitors and replaces lights and fixtures, and associated electrical appliances as needed.

  • Standard wood-working skills, performs finish work to include cabinetry, painting and minor repairs.

  • Performs minor repairs and services to sprinkler systems, including sprinkler valves, PVC piping, and outside water and control valves. Performs minor concrete repairs to sidewalks and patios. Maintains outside lighting systems of the community which includes parking lots and refuse areas.

  • Responsible to maintain all maintenance tools and equipment in a working and orderly fashion.

  • Accepts incoming freight and notifies respective departments of merchandise arrivals.


Qualifications


Education:
High school graduate or graduate of a technical or vocational school.


Training and Experience:
Three years experience with progressive responsibility in maintenance and power plant work. All staff that provide direct care to residents will have current first aid training.


Job Knowledge:
Minimum of two years of general maintenance experience with emphasis upon electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.


The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
