Job summary

Holiday Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Manville, RI is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our on-site team. This full-time role focuses on keeping the facility safe, functional, and welcoming for residents and staff.

You will perform rounds, handle minor repairs, review work orders, and support space improvements with a collaborative approach. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of general maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ years of general maintenance experience (painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or related trades).
• Skilled nursing facility experience is preferred.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily rounds to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs.
• Review maintenance logs and complete work orders promptly.
• Collaborate with staff to improve resident living spaces and the facility environment.

Responsibilities for Maintenance Assistant:

• Complete daily physical rounds throughout the facility to identify and address maintenance needs and safety concerns.

• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs to facility systems and equipment.

• Review maintenance request logs regularly and complete work orders accurately and promptly.

• Collaborate with staff to support improvements in resident living spaces and overall facility environment.

• Assist with furniture moves, equipment repairs, and general maintenance projects as assigned.

• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently to support resident safety and comfort.

• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications for Maintenance Assistant:

• One (1) or more years of general maintenance experience required (painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or related trades).
