Qualifications

  • Three or more years of general maintenance experience required.
  • Skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and maintenance best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily physical rounds to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs.
  • Collaborate with staff to support improvements in resident living spaces.

Overview

Join our team at Laurel Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center as Maintenance Assistant. Proudly supported by Marquis Health Consulting Services.

Full-time opportunities available. 8 AM-4:30 PM. Every Other Holiday. Every Other Weekend. Tuesdays and Thursdays Correspond with Weekend Coverage. Same Day Pay available! $ PIB. $18-$23 per hour.

Guided by our core values of Passion, Respect, and Excellence, the Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in ensuring our facility remains safe, functional, and welcoming for residents, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Complete daily physical rounds throughout the facility to identify and address maintenance needs and safety concerns.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs to facility systems and equipment.
  • Review maintenance request logs regularly and complete work orders accurately and promptly.
  • Collaborate with staff to support improvements in resident living spaces and overall facility environment.
  • Assist with furniture moves, equipment repairs, and general maintenance projects as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently to support resident safety and comfort.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three (3) or more years of general maintenance experience required (painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or related trades).
  • Skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of building equipment, building codes, and building systems.
  • Flexibility with schedule - availability for day, evening, holiday and weekend shifts is preferred.
