Job description

A manufacturing company has a full-time position available for a hands-on Maintenance Assistant to work with the team to make repairs and improvements throughout the facility. You will handle general maintenance repairs, landscaping, trash pickup, and perform other duties. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime available.

Job Duties:

1. Repair items, make improvements, and perform other maintenance duties
2. Perform assigned janitorial duties throughout the day
3. Use hand and power tools and perform basic daily preventive maintenance on machines and equipment
4. Follow and complete work orders and job assignments, and adhere to lockout procedures
5. Fill oil and grease for mixers and mills every morning and empty oil buckets
6. Visually inspect machines daily and report any problems or issues
7. Clean up oil and dust from machines and electrical enclosures
8. Change light bulbs, lubricate chains and grease bearings, clean maintenance room and tools, and perform monthly fire extinguisher and safety checks
9. Assist maintenance personnel and perform other maintenance duties as needed

Job Requirements:

1. Prior maintenance and mechanical experience
2. Basic experience using hand and power tools
3. Ability to follow and complete work orders and perform daily tasks on machines and equipment
4. Comfort working in a dirty environment, cleaning maintenance rooms and tools, and changing light bulbs
5. Ability to visually inspect machines
6. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Candidates must pass a background check and drug screen. Experience as a resident manager of an apartment building is a plus.
