Job summary

acemetal, located in Bensenville, Illinois, is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to perform preventive maintenance and facility repairs. Ideal candidates will have maintenance management experience and be knowledgeable in mechanical and electrical systems.

This position is safety-sensitive, requiring personal protective equipment use and engagement in safety training. The role demands communication skills and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or facility management is essential.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required.
• A valid Driver's License is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as per schedule.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and required tools.
• Interact with buyers to procure tools and supplies.
• Complete repairs, construction, or installation work as required.
• Complete standard work as outlined on the Maintenance Assistant Standard Worksheet.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, per schedule.
• Maintain maintenance supplies inventory and required tools.
• Interact with buyers to procure needed tools, supplies or parts, and may be required to purchase needed items directly on an expedited basis
• Complete facility related repairs, construction or installation work as required.
• Complete standard work included but not limited to the items listed on the Maintenance Assistant Standard Worksheet.
• Projects as assigned.

Safety Responsibilities

• Always wear personal protective equipment when in the plant.
• Participate in all required safety training and perform as trained.
• Speak up when you see something happening that is not safe.

Qualifications

• Maintenance/facility management experience
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC systems, power and manual tools a plus
• Computer skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Communication skills
