Xcel Energy is hiring for a Maintenance Apprentice (1st - 4th Year) or Maintenance Mechanic Journey Worker at Maddox Station in Hobbs, NM. The role involves hands-on maintenance of plant equipment, with an opportunity to complete a 4-year apprentice program and qualify for Maintenance Journeyman.

The position includes extensive training, safety requirements, and potential travel to other sites. Starting base pay ranges from $30.93 to $52.17 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must have passed the MASS test or have qualifications to sit for it.
• Must be able to respond to OT and call outs and wear PPE.
• Requires ability to lift 50 pounds and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, construct and maintain plant equipment (turbines, boilers, pumps, etc.).
• Participate in hands-on and classroom training including 4-year apprentice program.
• Travel to other locations may be required.
