Overview

Beach Cities Learning/Learn Academy is looking for a full-time Maintenance and Facility Specialist at our location in San Gabriel, CA.

The Maintenance and Facility Specialist is responsible for daily cleaning, deep cleaning, general maintenance including minor plumbing, minor painting, drywall repair, and other daily operational/maintenance tasks of the school or facility. Should have knowledge of wall, floor (tile and carpet), bathroom, and kitchen maintenance, as well as experience with general building upkeep including drywall repair, minor plumbing, and handyperson skills. They are expected to maintain a neat and clean appearance when on duty and perform other reasonable requests.

Responsibilities

• Perform the assigned work schedule following approved custodial/maintenance procedures.
• Project a positive image for the school with all employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain proper storage areas for custodial/maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Ensure building security by closing the building each school day.
• Maintain good sanitary conditions of building facilities.
• Cooperate with all groups using the building after school hours.
• Report problems noted in the building to their supervisor.
• Have knowledge of institutional cleaning procedures and basic maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience with routine disinfecting/cleaning and basic facility/building maintenance, including drywall repair, minor plumbing, painting, door/lock repair, and fire inspection.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to relate to a variety of persons.
• Experience with commercial and residential facility projects, including events and setup.
• Experience managing facility maintenance and cleaning.
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
• Frequent standing and prolonged movement.
• Ability to assume various postures (stoop, reach, stand, kneel, squat, sit, walk, lift, pull, grasp) for extended periods.
