Job summary

The City of Iowa City is seeking a part-time Facilities Services worker to clean and maintain the library buildings and surrounding grounds. This hourly position is scheduled on Sundays from 10 AM to 7 PM, on Mondays through Thursdays from 7 PM to 9:30 PM, and every 4th Saturday from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

Wage is $17.00 per hour. Under general direction, duties include cleaning, upkeep, and basic maintenance tasks to keep library spaces safe and welcoming.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One month of experience in building maintenance required.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record required.
• Must pass criminal background check.

• Skills in the operation of various cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers and wet vacuums, and snow blower.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to read and understand work orders and maintain electronic or written job records.
