Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of mainframe experience.
• 3+ years in utilities development / batch processing.
• Proficient in JCL and batch scheduling.
• Experience with DFSORT/Syncsort and IDCAMS.
• Experience on IBM z/OS, z/OS Connect, and related tools.
• Knowledge of REXX and COBOL.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize utility programs for data processing and batch workloads.
• Lead problem resolution and drive automation initiatives.
• Collaborate across teams to implement reusable utilities.
• Utilize IBM and ISV utilities like DFSORT, IDCAMS, and IEBGENER.
• Maintain and troubleshoot mainframe batch environments.

Location: Phoenix, AZ; Plano, TX & Charlotte, NC – 3 days onsite

Exp – 10+ Mandate

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Utilities Developer to design, develop, and optimize utility programs that support data processing, system operations, and batch workloads on IBM z/OS environments. This role focuses on building reusable utilities, enhancing performance, and ensuring efficient data handling across enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate technical expertise and knowledge.
• Lead resolution processes for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Develop technical solutions, automation of processes and lead individual or small team initiatives.
• Utilize and extend standard IBM and ISV utilities such as:
• DFSORT / Syncsort
• IDCAMS
• IEBGENER / IEBCOPY / SORT utilities

Required Qualifications:

• 5–8+ years of mainframe experience
• 3+ years focused on utilities development / batch processing

Strong experience with:

• JCL and batch processing
• DFSORT / Syncsort
• IDCAMS and IBM utilities

Experience building:

• Data processing utilities
• ETL batch processes
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for batch environments
• Experience with: Mainframe z/OS and Horizon platforms, z/OS USS, z/OS Connect, Jenkins, Ansible, IDZ and/or Eclipse based software.

Knowledge of the following:

• REXX and REXX Skeletons, COBOL
• zOS Connect, Utilities and Software: IBM, Broadcom, BMC

Knowledge on the following SCM’s:

• Rocket Changeman (formerly Serena)
• IBM Developer for zOS (IDz)

Preferred Experience:
