Job summary

Xaxis Solutions is seeking an experienced Mainframe Utilities Developer to design, develop, and optimize utility programs on IBM z/OS. The role focuses on building reusable data processing utilities, improving batch workloads, and enhancing performance across enterprise systems.

The position requires strong JCL, DFSORT/Syncsort, IDCAMS, and COBOL expertise, plus familiarity with z/OS Connect, Jenkins, and DevOps tools.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of mainframe experience.
• 3+ years in utilities development / batch processing.
• Proficient in JCL and batch scheduling.
• Experience with DFSORT/Syncsort and IDCAMS.
• Experience on IBM z/OS, z/OS Connect, and related tools.
• Knowledge of REXX and COBOL.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize utility programs for data processing and batch workloads.
• Lead problem resolution and drive automation initiatives.
• Collaborate across teams to implement reusable utilities.
• Utilize IBM and ISV utilities like DFSORT, IDCAMS, and IEBGENER.
• Maintain and troubleshoot mainframe batch environments.
